Privacy note
Al-Saff for Android, by AG Soft. Last updated 23 October 2026 (version 0.2.0).
Al-Saff works out prayer times on your phone. It does not have accounts, does not show ads and does not send anything about you to us or to anyone else.
What the app keeps on your phone
- The place you chose, or the position your phone found when you tapped "Use my location".
- Your language, calendar, clock and alert choices.
These stay on the phone. Uninstalling the app removes them.
Location
The app asks for your approximate location only when you tap "Use my location", to find the prayer times for where you are. The position is used on the phone and is not sent anywhere. You can always choose a place from the list instead.
Compass
The Qibla screen reads the phone's compass sensor while it is open. The direction is worked out on the phone and is not sent anywhere.
Notifications and alarms
Notifications and "Alarms and reminders" are used only to alert you at the Azan times you turned on.
Internet
Prayer times and alerts never need the internet. When the phone is online, the app checks at most every six hours whether a newer version of Al-Saff is available: it downloads a small file from agstealth.com with the newest version number. It sends nothing about you, your place or your settings. Like any website, our server briefly keeps a technical log of the request (the internet address and the time), which we do not use to identify anyone.
A later version will let you follow a mosque; it will then also download that mosque's published prayer times, and this note will be updated before that happens.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
